Bias Cut presents The Body Issue as both an invitation and a challenge. How can we wholly reflect the experience of living as a human in a body? And further, how can we question what a body is and what a body can be?
Olivia Reavey collages photographs of herself and her subjects to distort familiar forms into unfamiliar ones. The G-Strings embody an unadulterated expression of femininity and dance. Zach Hussein documents the West Bank of Palestine to memorialize a precarious landscape and its rightful inhabitants. In these pages, curators divulge their desires, artists connect through third cultures, and a young actress reveals how she designs her own prosthetic legs. Life surges through this issue. And you are a part of it.
